Concordia Village/LSS Installation

I was installed as chaplain at Concordia Village/LSS on Sunday, October 2, 2011. In the coming months I may include reflections on chaplaincy/pastoral care within an institutional setting/other theological reflections. Otherwise, I may flood my Blog with updates on Daniel. :)

Here are some pictures from the day of the installation.

Me with fellow chaplains and pastors.

Central Illinois District president, Rev. David Bueltmann, giving the rite of installation. This is the third time that a district president officiated the rite of installation. The others were Rev. Keith Kohlmeier - Kansas and Rev. Daniel May - Indiana.

I must confess that I did not prepare much of a response. Nevertheless, I emphasized my desire and willingness to work with the administration and staff of Lutheran Senior Services and Concordia Village. I also resolved to be a pastor to the residents, administrators, and staff of Concordia Village as long as the Lord has me serve here. I also acknowledged those who have offered pastoral care/worship at Concordia Village prior to my arrival...and will continue to do so.

Sweet baby.
